Arts on Referral for Chronic Pain - NBT

Description of service

  • Alternating programme of online groups and groups based in the Community Arts Room at Southmead Hospital
  • Places are offered on a first come first served basis
  • Programmes run from 10am – 12noon

 

The 6 week Arts on Referral programme offers a safe, creative and enjoyable space in which to:

  • Take some time to support wellbeing
  • Find out how being creative can lead to relaxation and enjoyment
  • Meet and share with others in a similar situation 

 

The programmes currently being offered in 2023/24:

  • Wednesday 8th November - Wednesday 13th December 10am to midday (Online on Zoom)
  • Wednesday 21st February – Wednesday 27th March 10am to midday (Community Arts Room)

 

They also run a Writing for Wellbeing session for patients who have received a cancer diagnosis and are planning an art based six week programme for patients with respiratory and neuromuscular conditions.

Who to refer: 

You don’t have to be artistic to take part. The group is open to anyone living with chronic pain. Whether or not you think you are creative.

In order to take part in the online group, you must have access to email and the internet and be willing to take part in online Zoom video calls with the group at the specified time each week.

How to refer:

Patients self-refer. If patients are interested in finding out more about this Arts on Referral programme, please complete and return the reply slip.
