12.2.1 Nasal Congestion

Sympathomimetics

Xylometazoline 0.1% drops/spray (TLS Green)

  • Nasal drops licenced from 6 years-11 years as 0.05% and 0.1% from 12 to 17 years, nasal spray from 12 years (0.1%)

 

12.2.2 Nasal inflammation, nasal polyps and rhinitis

Corticosteroids

Beclometasone nasal spray (TLS Green)

Betamethasone 0.1% drops (TLS Green)

Mometasone nasal spray (TLS Green)

Alternatives: (TLS Blue)

Budesonide nasal spray

Specific indication: (TLS Blue)

Fluticasone furoate spray (Avamys®)

  • Fluticasone nasal spray may be used in patients who experience adverse effects whilst using beclometasone nasal preparations.

 

Antihistamines

Azelastine nasal spray (Rhinolast®) (TLS Green)

Mupirocin 2% nasal ointment (Bactroban Nasal®) (TLS Green)

Chlorhexidine 0.1% / Neomycin 0.5% cream (Naseptin®) (TLS Green)
