10.4.1 Local inflammation of joints and soft tissue

Corticosteroids

Prednisolone (TLS Amber Specialist Recommended)

  • In children with rheumatic diseases corticosteroids should be reserved for specific indications (e.g. when other therapies are unsuccessful or while waiting for DMARDs to take effect) and should be used only under the supervision of a specialist

Alternative:

Methylprednisolone (TLS Red)

 

Local Corticosteroid Injections 

Triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog®) (TLS Red)

10.4.3 Sarcoidosis

Infliximab (TLS Red)

  • NHSE SSC2596 Infliximab for refractory sarcoidosis (excluding neurosarcoidosis)
