At the meeting on the 17th October the following decisions were agreed:
New Drug Requests
Approved
Sayana Press® (TLS green)
- For self-administered long acting contraception
Alteplase (TLS red)
- For treatment of adult patients with iliofemoral (proximal) deep vein thrombosis (DVT) with catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT)
Vita-POS® (liquid paraffin with vitamin A eye ointment) (TLS green)
- For long term treatment of chronic dry eye disease, or as a 'barrier' ointment used at night for recurrent erosion syndrome
Trimbow Inhaler® (TLS green)
- Beclometasone 87mcg/formoterol 5mcg/glycopyrronium 9mcg triple therapy inhaler for maintenance treatment in adult patients with moderate to severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) not adequately treated by a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) & long-acting.
Ribavirin (TLS red)
- For treatment of chronic hepatitis E in post-renal transplant patients.
- NHSE commissioned.

Amantadine
- SCP updated
Methotrexate for RA
- SCP update - some amendments made by group, to go back to next JFG to be signed off.
Roflumilast
- As per NICE TA 461
- SCP approved for amber 3 months
Azathioprine and Mercaptopurine for IBD
- SCP updates - further clarification around blood testing responsibilities needed. To be brought back to next JFG to be signed off.
- TLS change from red to amber (no SCP) on advice of microbiologist
