Recent JFG Decisions

 

At the meeting on the 4th March 2014 the following decisions / changes to the formulary were agreed:

 

New Drug Requests

 

Approved

Acid Citrate Dextrose for use with Cell Saver  

  • Approved for inclusion onto the formulary for use as an anticoagulant solution for use with Cell Saver machine.

Plasma-Lyte 148® 

  • NBT only restriction removed. 

 

Rejected

Timolol for paediatric haemangioma

  • Rejected on the grounds of insufficient evidence in this patient cohort to be available for routine prescribing. 

Memantine for Nystagmus

  • Rejected on the grounds of insufficient evidence in this patient cohort to be available for routine prescribing.  

Ibopamine eye drops for abnormally low intraocular pressure

  • Rejected on the grounds of insufficient evidence in this patient cohort to be available for routine prescribing.

Relvar®

  • More discussion required. The JFG discussed the application at the meeting, and agreed for inclusion onto the formulary. However further discussion at the April JFG regarding the possible issues with the colour of the inhaler in accordance with MTRAC verdict.
