Recent JFG Decisions
At the meeting on the 4th June 2013 the following decisions / changes to the formulary were agreed:
New Drug Requests
Approved
Insulin Degludec
- Approved for patients who have failed on insulin glargine and are not suitable or who have failed on insulin pump therapy, TLS Red.
Deferred
Lixisenatide
- Await public health appraisal of newly published trial data - to be re-discussed at the meeting 23rd July.
Specialised Commissioning
Aztreonam
- Specialised Commissioning policy for the treatment of Adult and Children with Cystic Fibrosis - to be added to formulary, TLS Red.
Shared Care Protocols
Lithium
- Updated SCP
Other Decisions
Oxybutynin
- Clinical need in certain departments, to be added back to formulary second line TLS Blue.
Retigabine
- Changed from TLS amber to TLS Red due to additional safety warnings.
Strontium
- Added MHRA warning and restrictions on licensed indications
