Advice is available from The community specialist respiratory team for all BNSSG practices.
This team offers an advice and guidance service for colleagues in general practice, care homes, the ambulance service and 111. This service is for all patients, regardless of whether they have / are believed to have Covid-19.

The line is open 8:00am - 6:30pm, 7 days a week
The number is staffed by specialist nurses and physios who have access to consultant advice on a daily basis, Monday to Friday.
Queries could include such issues as a deteriorating NEWS score, managing acute breathlessness, oxygen weaning, management of COPD, non-compliance with medication etc.

A respiratory consultant is available to offer advice or discuss referrals on a direct number: 0117 414 0282 (Monday to Friday 09:00am–5:00pm).
Advice & Guidance via eRS
For less urgent cases, advice can be requested via eRS. Advice requests should ideally be typed into the free text window of the advice request body on e-RS rather than attaching a separate letter or Word document. If you attach a Clinical Information Summary, please ensure it is named this, so that clinicians at secondary care can opt to look at it if they wish to turn the request into a referral.
