Overview

Patients with sports injuries will often present either at A and E or in general practice.

The Fracture Clinics or Acute Knee and Shoulder Clinics  may be appropriate for some patients with acute injuries

For more chronic injuries other options for referral include:

Community MSK Physiotherapy

Sirona MSKi Service  - The local MSK teams can triage and may be able to refer to appropriate NHS clinics. Referrals to NHS sports medicine clinics outside of BNSSG will still need to be referred via this service.

Sports Medicine Clinic at the University of Bristol - this is a non-NHS service but their physios run a free Virtual Open Clinic consisting of a ten minute video consultation. See the linked page for details.

Sports Injury Clinic at UWE - this is a non-NHS service but they offer treatment to members of the public for £8 per session. See the linked page for details.
