Head Injury Therapy Unit

Overview

The Head Injury Therapy Unit (HITU) is a professional rehabilitation outpatient service for people who have suffered brain injuries.

The team comprises of:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech & Language Therapy
  • Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Rehabilitation Support

The service is available to people who:

  • Are registered with a GP based within BNSSG 
  • Are over 16 years of age.
  • Have suffered an acquired non-progressive brain injury.
  • Have been discharged from hospital.
  • Are able to benefit from our interdisciplinary approach.

Referral

This service is not available via eReferral and referrals should be emailed using the HITU Referral form to: hitu@nbt.nhs.uk
